Tech Tip: Halo 2 Alert Notifications - On or Off

Got a technical question about your Starkey hearing aids or accessories? Erik Miles, Starkey’s Manager of Technical Support, answers the most common ones here.

One of the cool new features of Halo™ 2 Made for iPhone® hearing aids is that you can now hear Email, Calendar, Messages, Facebook™ and Twitter™ notification sounds directly in your hearing aids.

Setting up alerts is easy!

Step 1: Open the TruLink app.

Step 2: Tap on the Settings icon in the top right corner of the app.

Step 3: Tap “Alerts” under the Features section.

Step 4: Toggle on “Alerts” and play the Calendar, Email and Social Alerts to test.

Not everybody wants to hear these notification sounds though, so feel free to simply follow Steps 1 through 3 exactly as above, and toggle “Alerts” off to prevent notification sounds from playing.

Note: Tones will play for Email, Calendar, Messages, and some other apps (ex. Facebook) if they are set up to allow notifications. You can see this on your phone in Settings > Notifications and then select the individual app you want to provide notifications (ex. Facebook). This is important because you can turn off “Sounds” for these respective applications via the Settings for the app itself without turning off the Notifications. See below for an example with Facebook:
