Eden Prairie, Minnesota (January 14, 2021) – Starkey Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of Engineering Achin Bhowmik, Ph.D., has been named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization for the advancement of technology. Each year, following a rigorous evaluation procedure, the IEEE board of directors confers the grade of Fellow to a select group of recipients based on extraordinary accomplishments. Less than 0.1% of voting members are selected for this highest member grade elevation. It is recognized by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement.
“I am honored and humbled by this recognition,” said Dr. Bhowmik. “I have long been passionate about exploring and developing technologies that are inspired by the human perceptual and cognition systems.
