Starkey Receives Accolades for Custom-Made Hearing Aids, Equipment Management Systems, and Next-Generation Leadership
Global hearing technology company named Manufacturing Leadership Award finalist across three categories
Eden Prairie, Minnesota (April 10, 2023) – Starkey is proud to announce that it has been named a 2023 Manufacturing Leadership Award finalist in three different categories. Two accolades were given to Starkey’s manufacturing team for excellence in custom-made hearing aids and equipment management systems. The third was awarded to Starkey’s Materials General Supervisor, Gloria Belem Hernandez, for next-generation leadership. The awards, presented by the Manufacturing Leadership Council, honor companies and individual manufacturing leaders that are shaping the future of global manufacturing. Winning projects and individual leaders have demonstrated achievements that delivered clear and compelling value, return on investment, and tangible results.
“Starkey continues to be at the forefront of hearing technology, and our manufacturing strategy is a major component of that,” said Starkey President and CEO Brandon Sawalich. “The team at Starkey has an incredible dedication to continuous improvement. Together, we are serving our customers and their patients, better than anyone else.”
With manufacturing at its center, the team at Starkey continues to improve operations daily to deliver world class products that enhance the lives of those with hearing loss. As part of Starkey’s ongoing commitment to being a leader in technology and operations, the team strives to be better today than yesterday, and better tomorrow than today. Successful implementation relies on manager support, such has been shown by Belem Hernandez. With her leadership, the manufacturing team has made incredible improvements to the way they work and helped maintain Starkey’s position as a leader in custom hearing aids, which it has upheld for over 50 years.
“I am so honored to receive such a remarkable recognition for next-generation leadership,” said Belem Hernandez. “The work we do makes a real impact on the lives of those with hearing loss, and that is what motivates me to lead by example and do my best every day. Thank you to my team at Starkey for all of the hard work and dedication that made this award possible!”
