This past weekend Starkey Hearing Technologies hosted over 130 students and faculty from more than 35 university programs for our semi-annual Starkey University Workshop.
Workshop highlights included guest speaker Gyl Kasewurm presenting on the effective management strategies for private practice ownership. Students and faculty rotated through several hands-on sessions to fine tune skills in advanced fitting strategies, modifications and impression taking.
Some key elective courses included Mentoring 101 with Senior VP of Human Resources Larry Miller as well as Noise Management with Jason Galster, Ph.D, Manager of Clinical Comparative Research.
Starkey encouraged students to tweet and create vine videos throughout the weekend. Samantha Vrooman (@vdsamantha) received the award for "Most Valuable Tweeter" while Britanny Renne won the "Most Valuable Vine" prize for her short video (below) of how to take a proper hearing aid impression.
Evening events included a welcome reception in our William F. Austin Education Center, an evening at the house of William and Tani Austin as well as our Starkey All-Star Olympics.
