When not to wear your hearing aids

It’s good advice to remove your hearing aids prior to these situations and activities.

Most new hearing aids are designed to be water resistant and can handle a certain amount of moisture and sweat. Still, like most computerized devices, prolonged exposure to water and grime will cause irreversible damage. Thus, you should remove your hearing aids before:

  • Showering or bathing
  • Swimming
  • Enjoying a sauna
  • Using a hair dryer
  • Applying hair spray or other types of spray-on products. Apply hair products first, and then insert your hearing aids after.
  • Going to bed
