Tech Tip: How can I use my Halo or Halo 2 hearing aids with two Bluetooth devices?

Got a technical question about your Starkey hearing aids or accessories? Erik Miles, Starkey’s Manager of Technical Support, answers the most common ones here.

In today’s world, many of us have more than just a smartphone. We may have a smartwatch, an iPad, an iPod or another mobile tech device that we want or can connect our hearing aids too. Well, what happens when you have two devices and want to use both daily with your hearing aids?

One of the greatest benefits of Halo and Halo 2 hearing aids is that they can seamlessly connect via Bluetooth to multiple Apple and select Android devices. However, one device at a time is the rule. So, we teamed up with Erik Miles from our Technical team to create an easy step-by-step guide for how to quickly and efficiently swap your Halo and Halo 2 devices from one compatible device to another.

No more removing batteries, turning devices off and on, resetting hearing aids, or other tedious steps to sync your Halo and Halo 2 devices up. Below is a step-by-step video for moving from an iPhone to iPad. The steps are also written out beneath the video for quick reading.

Note: The steps below assume the Halo or Halo 2 devices have been paired to the iPad at some point in the past.

Step 1: Swipe up from the bottom of the iPhone to reveal the Command Center

Step 2: Tap on the Bluetooth icon to toggle it OFF. Lower the Command Center window by swiping down again.

Step 3: Swipe up on the iPad to reveal the Command Center.

Step 4: Tap on the Bluetooth icon to toggle it ON.

Step 5: Look for the Halo or Halo 2 devices to connect, and then lower the Command Center window.

If you have not yet paired your Halo or Halo 2 devcies with the iPad, please see the below video for how to pair your devices first. Note: you will need to toggle the Bluetooth OFF on the phone they’ve originally been paired with first before pairing to another device.
