#HearingFactFriday: Survey says wearing hearing aids leads to good things

Beginning in 1989, the non-profit Better Hearing Institute (since renamed the Hearing Industries Association) has surveyed and collected detailed information on thousands of hearing aid owners and individuals with hearing loss every three to four years.

Their nine published reports over that span — called MarkeTrak — are always fascinating, and provide information into the who, what, how and why of treating hearing loss and wearing hearing aids.

Results from the 2015 survey confirm that “people with hearing loss who use hearing aids are more likely to be optimistic and feel engaged in life.”

That comes as no surprise to us because the hearing professionals who fit our hearing aids tell us they hear the same thing from wearers all the time.
