#HearingFactFriday: If you’re 70 or older, there’s a good chance you have hearing loss

We aren’t telling you anything you don’t already know when we say that, as you age, a lot of things in your life are going to change. No doubt you can come up with your own list of things, so we’ll only dwell on one: you can expect your hearing will get worse.

We know — from research and studies — that the older you get, the more likely you are to experience hearing loss. In fact, researchers from Johns Hopkins Medicine say the prevalence of hearing loss doubles for every decade we’re alive.

That explains today’s #HearingFactFriday. And also why four out of five adults 85 and older have hearing loss, too.

The good news, though, is that most hearing loss is very treatable. Today’s advances in hearing technology mean most people with hearing loss can hear close to their old selves again.

Want even more good news? Many of those changes you’ll go through as you age are sure to be incredibly positive. No doubt you can come up with your own list, so we’ll only dwell on one: retirement.
